Karla Verma is an Associate Attorney at the Urbina Law Firm, LLC, focusing on immigration and criminal law. Having grown up in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, Mrs. Verma is fluent in Spanish, and often represents clients with limited English proficiency. Mrs. Verma utilizes her knowledge and experience to help navigate clients navigate the complex US immigration system, including naturalizations, family or employment petitions, visas, waiver practice, removal defense, and status renewal. Paired with her knowledge of criminal law, Mrs. Verma provides the necessary defense for clients facing a combination of criminal and immigration issues that may otherwise lead to deportation. Mrs. Verma moved to Savannah, Georgia in the summer of 2004, and later graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.S. in Spanish. She then earned her J.D. from the Charleston School of Law in 2016, where she served as Senior Research Editor to the school’s flagship law journal, the Charleston Law Review and also served as President of the Latino/a Law Students Association.

Prior to joining Urbina Law Firm, LLC, Mrs. Verma worked at the Immigrant Legal Center, LLC in Charleston, SC, where she consulted with clients on their cases on a regular basis, performed client interviews, and prepared asylum, U-visa, and family petition applications. Additionally, during law school, Mrs. Verma interned at the South Carolina Legal Services Migrant Division, where she traveled the state of South Carolina to inform migrant farm workers of their rights and ensure that their employers adhered to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. As a result of her exposure to a variety of immigration issues early on in her career, Mrs. Verma understands the complexities of immigration. Mrs. Verma has worked over three years helping individuals navigate through the complex world of immigration. Mrs. Verma has experience in dealing with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Executive Office of Immigration Review (EOIR), Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Mrs. Verma is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and a past member of the Hispanic National Bar Association and the Georgia Hispanic Bar Association. While away from the office, Mrs. Verma enjoys hiking, traveling, dancing, and spending time with her family and lovable Pitbull, Krush.
