Karla Verma
MANAGING ATTORNEY
Karla Verma is an associate attorney at Urbina Law Firm and specializes in immigration and criminal law. Ms. Verma holds a BA in Spanish from the University of Georgia and a JD from the Charleston School of Law. Having grown up in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, Ms. Verma is fluent in Spanish, and frequently represents clients with limited English proficiency. Ms. Verma uses her knowledge and experience to help clients navigate the complex U.S. immigration system. including naturalizations, family or employment-based petitions, visas, waiver practice, removal defense, asylum applications and renewal of status. Along with her knowledge of criminal law, Verma provides the necessary defense for clients facing a combination of criminal and immigration issues that could otherwise lead to deportation.
Prior to joining Urbina Law Firm in 2017, Verma worked at the Immigrant Legal Center in Charleston, SC. In addition, Ms. Verma interned with the Migrant Division of South Carolina Legal Services, where she traveled the state to inform migrant farmworkers of their rights and ensure that their employers adhered to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Ms. Verma has experience dealing with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP). She is also an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Georgia Hispanic Bar Association. When she’s not in the office, she enjoys hiking, traveling, dancing, and spending time with her family and her adorable Pitbull, Krush.
