Joel Valdes has a background in filmmaking and a Bachelor’s degree in Media Production from the University of Houston. He is passionate about telling stories that humanize and explore the immigrant experience, using creativity and thoughtful storytelling to connect with others. Drawing on his background in media production, Joel strives to create work that captures the challenges, resilience, and humanity of those navigating immigration. His work is driven by empathy and perspective, and he approaches every project with a desire to inform, engage, and inspire audiences.
Outside of work, Joel enjoys running, learning new languages, exploring different cultures, and working on independent film projects. He also loves traveling, visiting museums, and spending time with friends.
